Services for businesses
Cycling is good for business
At Wobble Cycling, we know that increasing levels of cycling within the workforce has significant business benefits.
- Cycling has clear health benefits and a healthier workforce is more productive and has lower levels of sickness
- Fewer expensive parking spaces are need (you can park 8 bicycles in the space taken by 1 car)
- Promoting cycling signals your commitment to reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality
- Fewer motor vehicle movements creates a safer and more pleasant working environment.
We understand the needs of cyclists and the barriers that discourage cycling. We can work with you to promote cycling within your workforce and reduce their dependence on cars.
How we can help
Outlined below are some examples of ways we can support you in becoming a cycle-friendly employer. Please remember that these are examples only, and we are happy to work with you to tailor our services to your particular needs.
Develop a Green Travel Plan
We can help you develop a Green Travel Plan to encourage sustainable travel choices by your employees. This will identify the key obstacles limiting the uptake of sustainable travel options, and the concrete measures needed to overcome them.
Audit your existing infrastructure and policies and advise on improvements
We understand the needs of cyclists and can help you identify parts of your existing infrastructure and policies that may be discouraging greater cycle use. Often quite small and inexpensive changes can have a big impact (e.g. rotating cycle parking stands so your bike doesn't roll away why you're trying to lock it up).
Provide cycle skills training
Today's roads can feel hostile and threatening, and many potential cyclists lack the confidence to ride on them. But with the application of some basic skills related to road positioning, communication and assertiveness, conflict with other road users is actually very unusual.
We can develop cycle skills training tailored to the needs of your employees that will give them the skills and confidence to become regular cyclists. For examples of the type of training we can provide, see our page on Services for families and individuals.
Run a cycle maintenance workshop
Many employees will have a bicycle in their garage or shed that just needs a bit of TLC before they start riding.
We can set up and run 'Dr Bike' sessions to undertake basic maintenance and repairs, and point owners in the direction of their local bike shop if more substantial repairs are needed.
